Melania Trump’s Cream Pantsuit Stole the Show at the State of the Union Address
President Trump may have been the speaker at last night’s State of the Union Address, but it was his wife, First Lady Melania Trump that had all eyes on her when she entered the room.
In stark contrast to the rest of the room, which was clad in dark hues of black or gray (some of whom were following the lead of stars on the Golden Globes red carpet in a show of solidarity against sexual abuse and misconduct), the 47-year-old showed up to the event in a cream Dior pantsuit, a white silk Dolce & Gabbana blouse, and nude Christian Louboutin stiletto heels. She polished off the sleek ensemble with perfectly blown out tresses, a smokey eye, and a nude lip.
It was also quite a change from former First Lady Michelle Obama’s SOTU ensembles, which, sans for a gray Michael Kors tweed suit dress in 2015 and a white Rachel Roy sheath dress in 2011, were largely full of color.
It isn’t the first time the current FLOTUS has opted for a neutral power suit, however: She also wore a $4,000 white Ralph Lauren silk crepe jumpsuit for her husband’s victory speech on Election Night.
