Melissa McCarthy FINALLY Gives Us a Sneak Peek at Her New Clothing Line
Yes, we had noticed that Melissa McCarthy has been killing it on the red carpet lately while promoting her brand-new film Spy. But no, we didn’t realize that the printed maxis and sleek sportswear-inspired layers she’s been wearing at appearance after appearance were all her own designs. Following in the sneaky footsteps of Blake Lively and Ellen DeGeneres, Melissa has actually been giving us an IRL sneak peek of pieces from her size-inclusive clothing line Melissa McCarthy Seven7, which doesn’t hit stores ’til the fall. And from what we can tell from the three-ensemble sneak piece, we’re in for a slew of polished round-the-clock options… oh, and a too-cute cat sweater too.
Announced back in November as a line that will encompass apparel ranging from sportswear to pieces with a career bend in sizes 4-28 as well as beauty products and accessories, Melissa McCarthy Seven7 is looking just as versatile as promised. At the NYC premiere of Spy, Melissa’s long-sleeved maxi dress is the type of glamorous getup you’d wear to a summer wedding with a waist-cinching brooch and box clutch or take to the beach with your fave espadrilles. The star was snapped again in NYC wearing your dream #Girlboss getup, which included asymmetrical gray separates layered like an #OOTD pro paired with pop-of-color yellow pumps from Zara (and they’re only $100).
Then just yesterday, Melissa gave the first *official* glimpse of her line to editors in NYC, where she was snapped posing in front of chunky knits and colored denim wearing a patterned kimono, flowy tunic top and skinny jeans aka the three pieces you need to look pulled together and still feel cozy every fall weekend. If you want to pass up comfy-chic for full-on lazy girl, there’s something here for you too: go with just the Le Meow cat sweater on top: it’s insanely cute, it’s French, it’s a guaranteed home run. Until the leaves start turning and we start pulling our boots from storage, we’ll have our eyes out for more as-seen-on-Melissa pieces to pop up (and, if they’re anything like these pieces, to slay).
