Nominated for her very first Golden Globe tonight for her role in Spy, Melissa McCarthy was up against some serious competition (see Amy Schumer and Jennifer Lawrence, to name a few), but win or lose, the Mike and Molly actress was already a winner for her red carpet look, which, get this – she designed herself!
You read that right. On the heels of the July launch of her fashion line, Seven7, McCarthy put her design chops to the test at tonight’s awards. Newsflash: She nailed it. The shiny blue fabric of this frock made the star a sure-fire standout, while its drapey design complemented her body like none other.
We have a sneaking suspicion this won’t be the last we see of McCarthy’s designs on the red carpet — on her and other celebs.
