Meryl Davis’ Engagement Ring Is the Prettiest Canary Yellow Diamond
Meryl Davis is trading in glittery leotards for a different kind of sparkle. While the former Olympic figure skater will not be returning to the 2018 games with partner Charlie White, she did just show off the ice she will be rocking from now on: an engagement ring from her longtime love, Fedor Andreev.
Davis posted her happy announcement on Instagram, revealing that she said “yes” on July 13 at California’s Stinson Beach. The simple photo of Davis hugging Andreev doesn’t show either of their faces, but it does offer a close-up of the square-cut canary yellow diamond complementing her perfectly manicured deep red nails.
Davis became a fan favorite after winning three Olympic medals with White in 2010 and 2014, including Team USA’s first-ever ice dance gold. She continued to show off her moves by winning season 18 of Dancing With the Stars. The duo announced that they will not be defending their title in the upcoming Pyeongchang games so that they can focus on their lives outside of skating.
Despite the break from competition, skating will surely have a place in Davis’s future. Andreev is the son of Davis’s coach, Marina Zoueva, and is a former figure skater himself, having competed for Canada and Russia before retiring due to injury in 2011.
The Michigan-based couple have been together for over six years and have a mini Sheepadoodle, Bilbo Baggins, who is the star of his own adorable Instagram account.
