Michelle Branch Married The Black Keys’ Patrick Carney in New Orleans
It’s been almost eight months since Michelle Branch and Patrick Carney welcomed their son, Rhys James Carney, and two years since they got engaged on her birthday, and on Saturday, April 20, the lovebirds finally got to say “I do.”
The songstress and her drummer beau, whom you may recognize from The Black Keys, exchanged vows in New Orleans at the stunning Marigny Opera House. The 1853 church has been converted into a performing arts space and is the same venue where Solange tied the knot with Alan Ferguson in 2014.
Filling the opera house were the couple’s closest friends and family, including baby Rhys and Branch’s 13-year-old daughter, Owen (from her first marriage to Teddy Landau). The bride’s friend, stylist Anda, shared a number of images from inside the ceremony, which show a beaming Branch walking down the aisle with her father, wearing a flowy vintage-inspired gown, and then walking out with her new hubby, smiling from ear-to-ear. Meanwhile, another one of her BFFs, marketing expert Jessica Kaplan, uploaded a snap of the newlyweds kissing in a red brick courtyard following the nuptials.
As for Branch herself, she took to Instagram at night to share a snapshot of the pin notification she received from People about her big day, captioning it, “Can confirm.” The couple were supposed to get married last May, but come February 2018, their plans suddenly changed. As Branch told her followers on Insta, sharing video of an ultrasound, “Well, we were just about to send out Save The Dates for our wedding in May when we got this little surprise. Wedding is postponed and Baby Carney is happening this summer! Patrick and I couldn’t be more excited! xx”
Congrats to the happy couple!
