Since leaving the White House, it seems like former President and First Lady Barack and Michelle Obama are living their best lives. And honestly, it’s giving us all the feels.
But it was this photo that @meagnacarter shared on Twitter of our former First Lady’s natural hair in all of its glory that broke the internet.

In the image (with an unspecified date or location), she skipped her usual blowout and rocked a gray and white polka dot bandana with her hair pulled into a low pony.
In 2015, Michelle’s hairstylist, Johnny Wright, confirmed to The Root that she was natural and had been so for several years. He would just straighten her hair with a flat iron. As for when the then-FLOTUS would wear her natural hair in a ‘fro, he teased, “I don’t know. Maybe on vacation, she will. It is a possibility.”
