Microsoft Will Pay You to Ditch Your MacBook
Brand loyalty is a funny thing, and sometimes it may not be as strong as you think. After revealing the Magic Touchbar yesterday, Apple seems to be pretty proud of their new MacBooks. But for those who want something MORE from their laptops, a competitor is poaching Apple fans and offering them a world of touch screens.
Microsoft will give you up to $650 to ditch your MacBook and switch over to their team. You’ve just got to spend that extra cash on a new Surface Pro 4 or Surface Book. (These are those laptops that bridge the gap between tablet and computer. They come with a touch screen and a keyboard that folds away.)
The Surface Pro 4 starts at $899 and the Surface Book starts at $1,499. So, theoretically, you could get a brand-new computer for about $250 if you’ve got the most expensive MacBook listed. To figure out how much cash you could get for your old MacBook, head over to Microsoft’s new trade-in site.
The offer only runs for a limited time (only through November 10!), so if you were dissatisfied with yesterday’s MacBook premiere, this could be your time to finally cross over to the dark Microsoft side.
