Missoni Just Sent Its Models (Including Gigi Hadid) Down the Runway in Pussyhats
The pussyhat has had a rather quick rise to fame. First dreamt up as a bold accessory to wear to the Women’s March on Washington, word spread fast and furiously of the hot new accessory as it gained power and notoriety, soon becoming the symbol of an entire movement. It even landed the cover of TIME magazine! And it isn’t showing any signs of slowing down: In fact, the iconic pink hat with catlike ears that we’ve all come to know and love just made its Milan Fashion Week debut.
As guests enjoyed the Missoni Fall 2017 show during Milan Fashion Week yesterday, they were met with quite the surprise when designer Angela Missoni saved the best for her finale. Missoni sent all of her models, including Gigi Hadid, down the runway wearing (you guessed it!) knitted pink hats.
The designer even donned one herself, keeping it on for post-show press and photo opps, to boot. What’s more, she gave everyone working the show, as well as all those attending, a custom hand-knitted pussyhat to call their very own (a woman after our own hearts!).

But these weren’t just any pink hats: Each one featured a haute couture twist in the form of the brand’s iconic colorful zig-zag stripes. According to Vogue, the collection has been dubbed “Pink Is the New Black” and, even more amazingly, a portion of the hat’s proceeds will go toward helping the American Civil Liberties Union and the UN Refugee Agency. Brava, Angela!
