ModCloth’s New Body Positive Swimwear Campaign Is All About Girlbosses
Whether we’re ready or not, swimsuit season is quickly approaching. As campaigns begin to be released, it’s easy to take a look, then quickly eye roll into oblivion. Even if we tried to eat and work out like VS models, we probably wouldn’t have abs like that. That’s where ModCloth comes in. Last year their swimwear campaign was highly praised for showing off not just models, but a variety of women, all photographed in the same swimsuit. This year, the funky online retailer is back at it again with another killer campaign, and this one is all about #girlbosses.
This year’s campaign features a winning combo of female entrepreneurs, ModCloth shoppers, models, employees and women who’ve been featured in previous ModCloth campaigns.
In a statement about the new campaign, ModCloth writes, “We believe women are more than their measurements – they are capable, confident and having an impact in the world […] Women are more than the size they wear – whether that is a 0, 2, 8, 10, 16 or 2X – it shouldn’t matter.”
In addition to these stunning photos and ADORABLE swimsuits (shop those here, BTW), ModCloth is launching a new video series called “Hot Tub Round Table.” In the pilot episode, ModCloth’s CEO Susan Gregg Koger chats with three other entrepreneurs (Superfit Hero’s Micki Krimmel, Studio Mucci’s Amina Muccilio and Whurl’s Samantha Kuntz) about everything from being a woman on the Internet to succeeding as your own boss. If this isn’t the best way to welcome swimsuit season, we’re not sure what is.
