Can You Believe These Designer Barbies Are Real People?
Barbie’s had one helluva year. In the past 365, she finally tied the knot with Ken, leaned in and joined Instagram just in time for NYFW. Ever since we can remember, Barbie’s fashion game has always been on point, so it’s no wonder that designer fashion brands like Moschino created an entire capsule collection inspired by the toy-turned-pop-icon.
Models Elizabeth Erm and Magdalena Frackowiak paired up with photographer Giampaolo Sgura for a stunning Vogue Pariseditorial that takes iconic high fashion brands that rule the runway (think Louis Vuitton, Ralph Lauren, Valentino, Dolce & Gabbana) and re-imagines Barbie in a ultra-luxe world. (Just like the old school Aqua song, but she spends more plastic for her designer duds.)
These designer dolls showcases Barbie jet-setting across the Atlantic to make it to the shows in London, Paris and Milan with the finest luggage, clothing and accessories that the brands offer.
But really, where can we get this adorable floral dress from Valentino?
Just when you thought designers were transporting us to the future with their interpretations of upcoming trends, Saint Laurent takes us back to the future with this David Bowie-inspired ensemble. Slouchy culottes in Pantone’s 2015 Color of the Year tucked into a pair of silver riding boots — we can dig it.
