We Can’t Get Over Moschino’s Toilet Paper Purse

We Can’t Get Over Moschino’s Toilet Paper Purse

As fashion month draws to a close, we’ve seen some pretty statement-making styles. Not only did Missoni send its models (including Gigi Hadid!) down the runway in striped pussyhats, but Moschino (a favorite of Mindy Kaling’s), now has us all kinds of inspired with its unique-as-ever collection of unexpectedly familiar, everyday items. Their 2017 F/W show at Milan Fashion week was irreverent, fun, wacky, and a little nutty.

Who knew that a shower curtain could be fashioned into a luxe frock? And yes, there’s even a bath mat train to really drive home the look.

And harkening back to Moschino’s 2014 F/W McDonald’s inspired collection, there was a Mickey D’s paper bag inspired clutch.

Also spotted on the runway was a (literal) trashcan shoulder bag ($850) made of sheepskin and plastic and a matching hat that’s Oscar the Grouch chic.

Another fun accessory was a high top sneaker shoulder bag that is a total cool girl accessory.

Other highlights included both a plastic dress (hungry for takeout, anyone?)…

…and what can only be described as a bubble wrap masterpiece.

The collection’s piece de resistance, however, had to be the roll of toilet paper (not available for purchase, but very DIY-able, no?) that designer Jeremy Scott strung onto a gold chain and branded with the fashion house’s label.

While we’re not too sure how practical it would be for carrying our goods IRL, as the roll is still open-ended, we’re strangely kind of digging it in spite of ourselves.
