When you grow up with a smile like this you are raised to find the joy in every moment. Raised to find the laughter in sometimes the most difficult circumstances and raised to share deep connections that fill our hearts with love and all the good things that nurture our soul. I know I feel the kind of freedom to love because of her. I know I feel the kind of strength to live fearlessly because of her. I know that I have never feared paving my own path because of her. I know I feel deeply unconditionally loved because of her. I also know that every mother is capable to give this to their children. She taught me that the love of mothers shape the future. Not through expectations but through love and honoring your children’s individual journey. To my great teacher, Happy Mothers Day. And to all of you other great teacher out there, Happy Mothers Day ❤️

I wasted so much of my life wishing my mother were something and someone she wasn’t. I wanted her to be like everyone else’s moms. I wanted her to be “normal”. Whatever that means. I blamed her for a lot of things for a long time. It was a little too late when I realized that if I’m gonna blame her for the bad, I also have to blame her for the good. And when I blame her for the good, I’m able to heal. If she were the mother I wanted her to be, I wouldn’t be me. I wish I had had the tools to know then what I know now. There is solace in knowing that she is with me now in a deeper and more profound way than she ever could have been in her physical form. She knows how I feel and how much I love her. And she’s proud not just of me, but of herself. Love your mommas. Love them hard. They’re doing the best they can with what they have. Happy Mother’s Day ❤️ #IsItWeirdThatiMissHerTeeth

This is my mom. Mom graduated from high school in the mid 60s & went straight to work. She met my dad & they began to take college courses at night after work & cleaned a daycare after classes for free childcare. My mom didnt graduate from college until 1983. She never gave up, she never stopped working. This is who raised me. She has never had enough resources but she's always made a way. When my parents got divorced after almost 30 yrs she didnt make it our business or talk to us about her "side", she made sure we loved and respected our dad. She prioritized our peace. At 60 my mom adopted 3 more kids...shes still going and shes still finding a way against all the odds. This incredible woman is my forever inspiration and I love you and celebrate you today and everyday. Love you Theresa Marie Glass Union. HAPPY MOTHER'S DAY 💜🧡💛💚💙
