Açaí Is the Latest Superfood to Make It into Your… Nail Polish?
Anyone who has been following the superfood trend can spout off all the health benefits of the açaí berry. It’s rich with antioxidants and packed with vitamins and minerals, like vitamin A and calcium. It’s also a good source of fiber. Clearly, there are a lot of perks from eating açaí, but now, one polish company wants you to apply the superfoods to your… nails?
Nails Inc. has thrown a bunch of our favorite healthy stuff — chia, moringa, cacao, goji, and açaí of course —into the formula for their latest launch. The Açaí Bowl ($25) collection isn’t only inspired by the nutrients; the colors also reflect it.
The set includes Eaton Row, a sweet lilac; Oxford Terrace, a classic red; St James Street, a sleek nude; and Hurlingham Gardens, a rich berry. Don’t they just look yummy?
Supposedly, the different superfoods in the polishes aren’t just good for the body, but have benefits for your nails too. Açaí is full of omegas and amino acids, which enhance the appearance of your nails. Chia gives your nails a protein boost. Goji is loaded with beta-carotene, a pigment found in plants that our body converts into vitamin A, which in turn promotes healthy skin and mucus membranes, a healthy immune system, and healthy eyes. Moringa is a source of zinc, one of the best minerals for healthy nails. Cacao contains sulfur, which strengthens your nails.
So if you want to get a little healthier and have pretty nails to boot, you should check out this collection. You can nab it on Sephora now.
