On Thursday, fans around the world had to resign themselves to the fact that their Queen Bee, Beyoncé (who is, of course, expecting twins), wouldn’t be making her much-anticipated scheduled Coachella headliner date on doctor’s orders. Fans of a very pregnant Natalie Portman (who is in her third trimester) will now be lamenting her absence as well, as she’s made the announcement that she will be attending neither tonight’s Independent Spirit Awards, where she is up for Best Female Lead, nor tomorrow night’s Oscars, where she is also nominated for Best Actress.
“Due to my pregnancy, I am unable to attend the Independent Spirit Awards and the Academy Awards,” she told The Hollywood Reporter. “I feel so lucky to be honored among my fellow nominees and wish them the most beautiful of weekends.”
While we certainly understand her decision, we will definitely miss seeing her Jackie-esque maternity style, which she’s been nailing all season long (see: her Golden Globes and SAG Awards looks) on both red carpets.
Here’s to wishing her best of luck on both her nominations despite her absence!
