This ‘Dynasty’ Star Says She ‘Won’t Be Returning for Season 2’
Dynasty spoilers ahead! Proceed at your own risk.
The roller-coaster drama on the CW’s Dynasty reboot means that you can never predict what’s going to happen. But according to one of the show’s stars, Nathalie Kelley, one thing you *can* count on is that her character won’t be around in season 2.
Kelley, who plays Cristal Flores on the series, sat down for an interview with E! News recently to discuss the big cliffhanger at the end of season 1, when Claudia (Brianna Brown) shot Cristal and left her for dead in the lodge, which someone (possibly Kirby Anders, whom we still haven’t met) set on fire with Alexis (Nicollette Sheridan) and Michael (Robert Christopher Riley) trapped inside.
Asked if she knows what will happen next, Kelley told E! News, “I actually don’t. I haven’t read anything for season 2. I know that I end up with a gunshot wound and in a fire at the end of season 1 and I know that I won’t be filming season 2. So I don’t know what that will mean for Cristal’s storyline. I won’t be returning for season 2.”
That doesn’t mean that Kelley is gone for good, though. As she explained, there are several different ways her story could go. “Is it coma? It is death? Is it… who knows? I actually don’t know. But I know that I’m not going to Atlanta [where Dynasty films] in July, that I’m staying [in Los Angeles]. I’ve got my life back.”
Season 2 of Dynasty is reportedly set to premiere on The CW on October 12, 2018.
