This App Tries to Improve Your Posture
So there you are, sitting at your laptop, getting your #girlboss on. Whether you’re researching power suits or power lunches or just actually (ahem) getting your work done, you spend a lot of time parked in front of that monitor. We all know the evils of bad posture, like lower back pain and diminished breathing capacity, to name a few. We do our best to correct it when we can, but the realities of office life can make it hard to remember all the time. Well, now thanks to this simple app called Nekoze, you can correct your posture straight from your screen.
You’ll have to get over your fear of Big Brother, because the app accesses your camera after it’s been installed on your machine. We gave this brilliant idea a whirl. The app is pretty undetectable except for the little cat face icon (neko means “cat” in Japanese, hence, Nekoze) in your top bar. After you press start, the magic begins.
The best part is every time you slouch, the app makes a meowing noise and a little pop-up with a cat face appears, which just had us in stitches — it’s simply the most unexpected noise to come out of your computer while you’re working!
It’s a great little reminder to have on your dock to keep you upright whenever you slump, and we definitely think your mothers would approve. Plus, if you’re in need of a giggle, this app will definitely give you one.
