WTF: You Can Airbnb This Netflix and Chill Room for $400 a Night
For Valentine’s Day, some people like chocolates, others like going to a nice dinner (whatever your plan is, there’s a V-Day app for that). Others still just want to bum around at home and spend quality time with their television sets. In case you have an extra $400 lying around and you’re looking for a way to up the ante on your V-Day staycation, there’s now a room you can rent on Airbnb located in the West Village neighborhood of Manhattan that is wholly and entirely dedicated to Netflix and chillin’.
Created by digital creative and Internet artist Tom Galle of Art404, a New York conceptual art company, the room is currently on Airbnb for $400 a night (FYI, if you rent from Airbnb’s British site, it’s £288 a night, or roughly $312. Not sure why it’s cheaper but shhh… you heard it here). The room comes with a bed decked out with Netflix sheets, a fully stocked mini fridge with drinks, surround sound speakers, a HD video projector for easy viewing and, of course, a killer view of the New York skyline. Perfect romance.
And no, it hasn’t escaped the creators that Netflix and chill is still just slang for sex, but Tom tells NME,”It’s bringing a part of the internet to a real life experience. You don’t have to sleep with a girl there or a guy there, we’re just bringing the joke to real life.”
We gotta admit, a Netflix and chill room is pretty darn funny.
