Netflix’s ‘A Christmas Prince’ Is Getting a Royal Wedding Sequel
Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s big day isn’t the only royal wedding setting the internet abuzz today! Netflix just announced that A Christmas Prince, one of last year’s most talked-about seasonal movies, is getting a wedding-themed sequel later this year.
In case you have yet to watch the original — and really, what are you waiting for? — A Christmas Prince tells the tale of Amber (Rose McIver), an American journalist who is assigned a story on playboy Prince Richard (Ben Lamb) from the fictional country of Aldovia. She pretends to be his sister’s tutor to get inside the palace, and, well, you can guess what happens next.
It turns out, though, that the story isn’t over yet. On Friday, May 18, Netflix shared a teaser for the upcoming sequel, tweeting: “Hear Ye, Hear Ye! Ms. Amber Moore and His Royal Highness Prince Richard of Aldovia kindly request the honor of your presence at their royal wedding later this year.”

In the clip, Amber preps for her wedding by taking notes on Meghan Markle and Prince Harry’s wedding. As she sits with Prince Richard, Princess Emily (Honor Kneafsey), and Queen Helena (Alice Krige), she jots down a few pointers, including: “Make sure no jellied meat on menu,” “Must NOT become a meme,” and “WEDDING HASHTAG???”
“Imagine how it must feel knowing the whole world will be watching your wedding,” she tells Richard, who replies, “The whole world will be watching our wedding.”
We know we will! The sequel to A Christmas Prince premieres later this year.
