Stop what you’re doing — the Queen Bee herself just dropped a new visual album, “Lemonade,” via Tidal during her hour-long HBO special of the same name, and the Internet is freaking. Out. (I mean…! Can you blame them?!) And that’s not all — the album is chock full of GTFO here collaborators, including Jack White, The Weeknd, James Blake and Kendrick Lamar, to name a few. Whoa.
The mystery surrounding the lead-up to Lemonade (would it be a documentary? A music video? What was this supposed to be?) perhaps should have been a clue that a hush hush release was imminent — Bey is, after all, known for surprising her fans, but this was done in truly epic fashion. Pairing stunning visuals with heartfelt songs of love, loss and pain, we think the singer has outdone herself with this one. And just in time to kick off her “Formation” tour on Wednesday!
