Sampling thousands of new foods for taste, texture, and trendiness is no simple task, but someone's got to do it. As passionate snackers, we want you to put your money toward the best products on the market, so we spent a few days this year scouring the Winter Fancy Food Show and Natural Products Expo West for the best tasting and most exciting upcoming snack releases — and the loot was well worth our overly full bellies. Brazilian cheese bread and actually good gluten-free muffins are just a few products that you should pile into your shopping cart this summer and beyond.
Brazi Bites Chicken & Cheese Empanadas ($6): Each of these crispy yet tender mini empanadas is filled with just the right amount of meat, cheddar cheese, and green chiles to get you primed for your main course without filling you up all the way. FYI, they are completely GF.
Expected Release Date: May 2019
Moocho Plant-Based Cheesecakes ($4): Ditch the ice cream pint for an equally cool and creamy single-serve cheesecake by Moocho (Tofurky's new sub-brand), soon available in Chocolate, New York Style Vanilla, and our favorite, tart and sweet Triple Berry Swirl.
Expected Release Date: May 2019
Feel Good Foods Uncured Pepperoni Bites With Cauliflower Crust ($5): At long last, a 2019 makeover of cheesy Totino’s Pizza Rolls, complete with gluten-free cauliflower crust and way smokier pepperoni.
Expected Release Date: May 1, 2019
Soozy's Grain-Free Banana Chocolate Muffins ($2): You need these moist, heavenly muffins in your life regardless of your tolerance for gluten. They taste just like your grandma's best banana bread but with much cleaner ingredients and a smidge of nutmeg.
Expected Release Date: Summer 2019
Living Intentions Cheeze Please Activated MCT Popcorn ($5): This better-for-you popcorn is seasoned with a vegan blend of MCT oil, nutritional yeast, pumpkin seeds, and red bell pepper. It tastes delightfully junky enough to sneak into the movies.
Expected Release Date: Late Spring 2019
Hilary’s Grain Free Super Cauliflower Veggie Burgers ($5/4): These velvety patties taste more like fried mashed potato balls than veggie burgers, and for that reason, we would eat them every day. They’re not quite juicy enough to eat in a sandwich. However, they would be excellent over a bed of greens.
Expected Release Date: Mid-May 2019
Brazi Bites Cinnamon Churro Brazilian Cheese Bread ($6): These cinnamon-sugary bites are crispy on the outside and addictively gooey on the inside, thanks to the genius addition of cream cheese in the dough.
Expected Release Date: May 2019
Justin's Organic Almond Butter Covered Almonds ($6): Plenty of nuts are covered in yogurt and chocolate, yet rarely are they enrobed in a puréed version of themselves. Justin's clever snack is simultaneously smooth and crunchy.
Expected Release Date: May 2019
Savorly Four-Cheese Mini Gratins ($6): As if we needed another excuse to eat cheesy, garlicky potatoes, these sophisticated bites will arrive on the scene in time for holiday entertaining.
Expected Release Date: October 2019
Clif Nut Butter Filled Maple Almond Butter Bar ($2): Tired of boring bars? These soft and chewy snacks taste like syrupy buttermilk pancakes and will knock you right out of your protein funk.
Expected Release Date: June/July 2019
