Oh Baby! This App Helps New Parents Organize Crazy Schedules
Any new parent can relate to how overwhelming bringing a human into the world can be. We’ll save you the gory, vomit-covered details, but know that any little bit helps, from potluck meals to extra clothes or even that ever-elusive extra hour of sleep. So it’s probably not surprising that someone has designed an app to organize the chaos. Newbee wants to help you keep better track of your (and your baby’s) daily habits so you can start to establish some sort of basic routine.
Newbee tracks daily events in your baby’s busy schedule, connects you with your partner and logs everything from eating to sleeping times and diaper changes. Tracking everything may seem like overkill at first, but trust us, this system is a major boon in the craziness of new parenthood. You’ll start to notice and identify patterns in your child’s life, which can help you narrow down problems with sleeping or track growth and development. And everything is stored securely in the cloud, so no worries if your little bundle of joy accidentally chews on or destroys your precious iPhone ;)
The app seems to have thought of everything. The easy-to-use interface also lets families adjust their account to include custom actions like breastfeeding or medication times. And you can add as many family members to your account as you want, acknowledging helpers like grandparents and nannies.
If anything, this company gets that desperate parents come from all walks of life, which is why they have (impressively) built their app to work on iOS, Android, Windows Phone and Firefox OS. The app is currently trying to raise funds on Kickstarter, so go check them out in the next week to make it a reality — even a $15 pledge will get you a year subscription to the service.
Would you use this app with your newborns? Would it help you get organized, or is it just too much trouble? Let us know in the comments below!
