Nick Jonas and Priyanka Chopra’s Pre-Wedding Sangeet Party Sounds (and Looks) Epic
Nick Jonas and Priyanka Chopra’s wedding weekend just keeps getting more and more epic. The couple, who tied the knot on Saturday in the first of twoceremonies, have had three days filled with tradition, dancing, and plenty of partying. Yesterday, they shared a glimpse inside their Mehendi bash, during which the bride-to-be had her hands covered in a beautiful henna design, and now the couple are taking us inside their over-the-top Sangeet party at the Umaid Bhavan Palace.
“It all began as a fierce song and dance competition between the families but ended, as always, as a huge celebration of love,” the beaming bride wrote on Instagram, explaining the traditional Hindu custom. “Nick and I were looking forward to the Sangeet (musical evening), another pre-wedding ritual… and to see what each side had put together.”
Sharing photos and video from the unforgettable evening, she gushed, “And what a performance it was. Each family telling our stories through song and dance, filled with lots of laughter and love. We were both filled with gratitude for the effort, the love, and the laughter and will carry the memories of this special evening for the rest of our lives. It is an amazing start to a lifetime of togetherness for our families and friends… #grateful”
Jonas shared a video to his account, too, with a similar caption: “Priyanka and I have been looking forward to the Sangeet (the musical evening and a pre-wedding ritual) to see what each side of the family had put together. We’re both so full of gratitude for the effort and the love put forth by both families. What an amazing start to a lifetime!”
In Chopra’s clip, set to “Deep Into the Wild,” you can see the entire wedding party getting in on the action as they put on some seriously impressive performances, complete with acting, singing, props, and, of course, jaw-dropping traditional outfits. There was even a Jonas Brothers reunion!
Chopra looked stunning in a sparkling gold and silver sari, while the groom-to-be wowed in a midnight blue sherwani, both created by Abu Jani Sandeep Khosla. The designer actually took to Instagram to share details about the party, revealing that “millions of fairy lights and mirror installations lit up the Umaid Bhavan grounds to create an enchanted wonderland. It was as if the sky and earth danced as one to celebrate this union.”
The newlyweds kept the festivities going on Sunday with a traditional Hindu ceremony. Congrats, you two!
