Nicki Minaj Just Started a Massive Twitter War After This Designer Refused to Work With Her
Following her much-publicized Twitter beef with Taylor Swift back in 2015 over the VMAs Video of the Year, Nicki Minaj has, for the most part, kept the drama to a minimum, going on to make up with the singer onstage. She even kept mum when Demi Lovato tried to call her out over a photo of the two together while at the 2016 Met Gala that Nicki “forgot” to tag her in. But today, Nicki unleashed a world of social media hurt, with shoe designer Giuseppe Zanotti as her target.
Apparently, after Giuseppe gave musicians Jennifer Lopez and Zayn Malik their very own capsule collection, Nicki’s team reached out to discuss a potential capsule collection with Nicki. The request didn’t exactly go as planned — in fact, they outright refused her call.
Always one to speak her mind, Nicki quickly took to Twitter to vent her frustrations.
This is wonderful. #GiuseppeZanotti seems to think it's ok to name his sneakers after me but his PR says they won't take our call. Lol.

I met #GiuseppeZanotti years ago. At which time, he told me I inspired him to design a sneaker in my honor. Wore them on the cover of Cosmo

Recently when he gave other artists capsule collections, my agency reached out and was told they're not taking our call. 🤔

Particularly grating to Nicki seemed to be the fact that, as she says, Giuseppe has actually already named multiple shoes for her in the past. In fact, according to Twitter user “Tom Ford,” he’s named 23 pairs for her.
In total there are 23 different shoes named after her #RunMeMyCHECK #GiuseppeWhatsGood pic.twitter.com/jIw94bAXi0

Resurrecting her now infamous line of “What’s good,” (you might recall she said the same onstage when she felt Miley Cyrus had disrespected her by weighing in on the Taylor situation), Nicki proceeded to get the hashtag #GiuseppeWhatsGood trending worldwide.
#RunMeMyCHECK #GiuseppeWhatsGood I got time today. 😊 barbz trend this cuz he gon learn today. The racism & disrespect won't b tolerated.

She then requested that instead of giving her the capsule collection she had initially sought out, the designer should donate to charity in her name to make it right.
Don't care about the money. It's just the disrespect. You're not taking MY call? Lol. Give some money to charity in my name or smthn. 🙏🏽

Though Giuseppe and his team haven’t responded directly, they DID remove any sneakers bearing her name from their website.
Well that's a start. Guess they taking calls now… 😊🎀 https://t.co/wferAGj2h8

But the drama appears to be just getting started, because according to Hollywood Life, JLo has weighed in, and she’s not exactly feeling Nicki’s rant.
As a source told the outlet, “Jennifer’s out here minding her own business and doesn’t have time to be petty with these girls who may be taking jabs at her. She’s a proven diva and her body of work speaks for itself, which is why producers, writers and designers want to work with her.”
Ouch!
Between this and the drams going down in the White House RN, it’s shaping up to be quite an eventful Friday eve, indeed!
