Nikki Reed and Ian Somerhalder Welcome Baby Girl Bodhi Soleil, According to Reports
Let the month of silence begin. After announcing that they were expecting in an adorable photo last May, Nikki Reed and Ian Somerhalder have reportedly welcomed their first child. According to E! News, Reed gave birth to a baby girl named Bodhi Soleil on July 25.
Don’t expect to see any photos of their bundle of joy or hear from the new parents on social media anytime soon, though. In an interview for Fit Pregnancy‘s August cover story, Reed told the magazine, “After the baby arrives, we’re doing one month of silence. Just the three of us, no visitors, and we’re turning off our phones too, so there’s no expectation for us to communicate.”
This vow of silence will allow the new mom and dad to soak in every possible moment as a family of three. “Otherwise, every five minutes it would be, ‘How are you feeling? Can we have a picture?’ You don’t get those first 30 days back, and we want to be fully present.”
Prior to the reports about their daughter, Reed posted some shots from the final days of her pregnancy to Instagram, reflecting on what it meant to her to have recorded an album with her child in the womb. “Writing and recording this entire album with this baby in my belly has been the most beautiful experience. One thing I know for sure, this child is going to love music,” she wrote next to a video of herself cradling her stomach.
