‘Vampire Diaries’ Stars Nina Dobrev and Paul Wesley Had a ‘Magical’ Reunion
Vampire Diaries fans said goodbye to the show earlier this year, but they’ve been missing Nina Dobrev’s character Elena since the actress exited the show back in 2015. This weekend, Dobrev helped us relive a little of the show’s magic when she reunited with her one-time on-screen love Paul Wesley, AKA Stefan.
“NYC when it’s snowing is full of serendipitous run-ins and magical reunions, like this one,” Dobrev captioned a smiling selfie of her and Wesley. The pair may have shared a tumultuous on-screen romance, but in real life, they clearly have nothing but love for each other.
Dobrev even included a hashtag sure to evoke some strong emotions from fans of the departed show: “#TVDForever.”
Dobrev recently revealed that leaving the hit CW show was in her plans all along — but that didn’t make it any easier. “That was the plan from the get-go,” she told Harper’s Bazaar. “If anything, the fact that [leaving] terrified me drove me even more. I needed to feel that fear of ‘Oh, my God, what if I never get a job again?’ That just made me want to work five times as hard to make sure that didn’t happen.”
In 2013, The Vampire Diaries produced a spinoff series called The Originals, which is also set to end after its upcoming fifth season.
