5 Old-School It Bags That Are Back in a BIG Way

Once upon a time, in the days before personal style blogs, It bags ruled the fashion world. From the '90s to the early 2000s, high-end designers would put out handbag styles in limited quantities that would create a feverish demand — and mile long wait lists. Scoring one of these coveted purses was the ultimate status symbol, and the knockoff business boomed as a result.
These days, the idea of dressing just like your peers is less desirable, and more of a premium is placed on having a unique sense of
personal style. But we couldn't help but notice a few It bags of yore making the rounds once again — this time reimagined courtesy of new colorways, modern styling, and offbeat combinations. Perhaps it's time to bust some of these purchases back out — they were expensive enough, right? Ahead, five bags that are worth dusting off for summer 2018.
Dior Saddle Bag: This style was spotted on everyone from Sex and the City's Carrie Bradshaw to Paris Hilton at the beginning of the century — and now it's experiencing a mini-revival thanks, in part, to a slew of editors and influencers who resurrected it from their closets. So much so, in fact, that Dior brought the iconic silhouette back for Fall/Winter 2018.

Prada Nylon Bag: Any style-conscious girl worth her salt in the mid-to-late '90s sported a black nylon Prada bag with the coveted branded triangle. Today's street style stars have been bringing back the old-school style en masse, so you may want to dig yours out of storage ASAP.

Gucci Logo Bag: Pre-Tom Ford, Gucci was all about their signature logo print, complete with red and green stripes, of course. The heritage pattern has made a return appearance of late, especially in the form of the flat messenger crossbody bag.

Balenciaga Motorcycle City Bag: If you were in the know or a celebrity in the early 2000s — or a wannabe — you owned at least one of these bags (Nicole Richie had one in seemingly every color and size). While the frenzy quietly died down years ago, we've recently noticed the moto bag making a comeback. If you didn't score one the first time around, this may be your opportunity.

Louis Vuitton Duffle Bag: Logos are officially back, as evidenced by the surge of Vuitton checkerboard patterns among the street style set. Where the classic duffle shape once felt like something best left in your mom's closet, it now feels fashionably fresh, thanks to intrepid street style stars.
