We’ve seen some celebrity style collaborations in our day that have made us scratch our heads, but when news dropped that Olivia Palermo was tapped to design a capsule shoe collection, our reaction was more like “well duh!” Since Liv has proven time and again that she’s a bona-fide pro in shoe statement making, the announcement seemed as natural as SJP’s foray into footwear. And as OP fans, we’re naturally psyched to see what it’s like to walk a day in the former reality star’s steppers.
In a partnership with Italian footwear brand Aquazzura, Olivia’s six-shoe collection will feature styles that could walk you through an entire year of red carpet appearances. Besides a handful of ultra-glam pumps, including one pair of stilettos dripping in jewels, the limited edition line rounds out with a pair of shiny over-the-knee boots, gladiator sandals and an ankle boot. Ranging from $600 to $1,625, the high-end pairs will be available at select retailers this September, including Net-A-Porter, Saks Fifth Avenue and Holt Renfrew. And while several sketches reveal a snippet of what we’re in for, we’re hoping some of Olivia’s most killer shoe picks from the past will influence the remaining lot. Here are the four fashion-forward frills we have on our wish list.
1. Color Blocked Details: We’re on the same page as Olivia when it comes to wow-ing with an unexpected pop of color. We’re crossing our fingers for mega color contrast in her brand-new shoe collection.
2. Tassels + Pom Poms: Forget studs and buckles. Liv seems to flip for frillier shoe embellishments like tulle, feathers and even tassels and pom poms. We’re dying over the latter that add quirky flair to any outfit.
3. Super Strappy: It seems when Olivia picks out a statement shoe, the strappier, the better. And after ogling her fave slinky steppers, we’re all for wrapping up our feet in the name of fashion.
4. Flashy Mules: This fall, slides are still totally on trend. But this season, it’s all about the heeled mule. We wouldn’t be at all surprised if OP slid a backless pair or two in there, so we’ll start practicing our graceful glides.
