How to Copy Olivia Pope’s Favorite Shoe Style for Way Less
When it comes to killer girlboss style, Olivia Pope is usually our go-to source of inspiration (besides the always-flawless Jenny Lyons, of course). The ultimate gladiator’s look is so covetable that the Limited teamed up with the show last fall to create a Scandal-inspired fashion line. And while that totally fulfilled our need for wide-legged trousers and silky blouses, it left us high and dry in the shoe department. So lucky for us, Scandal’s costume designer Elizabeth Paolo just shared how you can get Olivia’s favorite shoe.
Paolo told Footwear News, “As Olivia has evolved, so have her shoe choices. We began her journey with solid platform pumps by Miu Miu and Gucci. However, as her world has become less and less solid, she now favors more of a stiletto heel. Our go-to is the Manolo Blahnik collection.” She goes on to explain, “Our favorite so far this season is the Crepe De Chine BB pump in black and dark gray. We also have several pairs of Manolos in pink just for those romantic interchanges with Fitz.”
Those designer kicks are definitely a must-have, but sadly we also must have enough rent money (they’ll set you back about $600). If you’re looking to get the look for less, check out these just-as-stylish (but also MUCH cheaper) alternatives.
1. BCBGeneration Treasure Pumps ($89): Classic, simple and totally stunning, these suede shoes are a sure way to feel like a superstar.
2. Faith Leather Pointed Heel Court Shoes ($88): If you’re a little hesitant to invest in a pair of pumps that may get ruined in wet weather, go with this leather pair that has all the class of Olivia’s Manolo Blahniks with a winter-approved touch.
3. Fawn Satin High Heel Pumps ($350): If you are a little more into the kicks Olivia wears when she’s secretly hanging with Fitz, snag these hot pink pumps designed by yet another style icon, Sarah Jessica Parker.
Pro tip: Into the idea of rocking a high-heeled pump but afraid of your feet falling off in pain? Accompany your new purchase with a pair of these Kate Middleton-approved insoles that the Duchess swears by.
