Set Your Olympics Party Alight With These Fruity Olympic Torch Desserts!

It’s Olympics time! Who’s excited? I find it hard to get into sports most of the time, but when the Olympics rolls around, it all changes. If you’re throwing any Olympics parties this year, here’s a fun and creative dessert that’s really easy to make — fruity Olympic torch cones! The Olympic torch is one of the most iconic symbols of the Olympics, and these fruity cones are a great way to make an edible version at home. Just stuff your ice cream cones with whatever fruit you fancy (I went for mango and strawberries, to keep with the fiery orange and red theme), then top them with marbled buttercream for the perfect flame.

Ingredients:
Makes 4
— 4 ounces butter at room temperature (1 cup diced)

1 cup powdered sugar

tiny drop red or orange food coloring

4 ice cream cones

1 mango

1 cup strawberries

Instructions:

1. Cream together the butter and powdered sugar until soft and fluffy.

2. Add a tiny drop of red or orange food coloring and mix a few times — don’t combine entirely.

3. Add a small amount of the buttercream inside each ice cream cone. Roughly chop the mango and strawberries (leaving four large strawberries whole), and fill each cone with the chopped fruit. Top each cone with an upturned strawberry, making sure it’s secure (hold it in with another dab of buttercream if you need to).

4. Top with the remaining buttercream, creating jagged points to look like flames. Serve immediately.

Cream together the butter and powdered sugar until soft and fluffy.

Add a tiny drop of red or orange food coloring, and mix a few times — don’t combine entirely. The color should be marbled through the buttercream, rather than being one solid color.

Top each cone with an upturned strawberry, making sure it’s secure (hold it in with another dab of buttercream if you need to). This will help form the shape of the flame.

And your fruity Olympic torch desserts are done! If you need to, you can prepare the buttercream and chop the fruit in advance, then assemble just before serving. Don’t assemble the cones too far in advance, otherwise the cones can become soft due to the juicy fruit inside.

These Olympic torch desserts are really easy to customize if mango and strawberries aren’t your thing. You can use whatever fruits you like, or even fill your cones with candy if you have a serious sweet tooth. Perfect for waving in the air to cheer on your country during the Olympics!
