OMG! Timeless Is No Longer Being Canceled After Fans Rally to Save It
This is some seriously shocking TV-related news! After announcing just last week that Timeless had been canceled, it now looks as if our readers weren’t the only ones upset about the series getting the axe. In a wild move that rarely happens, NBC has decided NOT to cancel Timeless after fans rallied to save it. *round of applause for the fab fans*
While it initially looked like the time-traveling characters played by Malcolm Barrett, Abigail Spencer, and Matt Lanter wouldn’t be continuing their story beyond the first season (after ratings dropped massively from 7.6 million viewers back in October to an average of just 4.6 million viewers for the final episodes), those who love the show were apparently *very* vocal about the fact that they wanted Timeless to be given more… well, time.
“We heard from the fans and didn’t want to be on the wrong side of history,” NBC sources explained according to Vulture, a statement which may seem a little dramatic, but considering the show is all about that historical vibe, we totally get it.
Now set to return in 2018 with 10 new episodes, the series’ showrunner Shawn Ryan is as thrilled as the rest of us about the network’s change of heart, taking to Twitter to confirm the news.
It's true! NBC heard from the fans, went back in time and changed history! #Timeless is getting a Season 2! #TimelessResuscitated!
