25 One-Piece Swimsuits Designed for Ladies With Long Torsos
Though one-pieces are useful for their one-and-done fit, they can present more than a few problems for taller women. If there's not quite enough material to cover a lengthy midsection. material can stretch and cause the dreaded camel toe or hungry butt. "What's important to note is that a long torso isn't necessarily about your height. It's about the length of your body," says Victoria Shelton, garment technologist at Figleaves. "You could be four inches taller than your friend and she might need a longer-length swimsuit while you fit into a standard length," Shelton continues.
Our fave retailers offer long or tall options in trendy swim styles. Before you ready your credit card, there are other details to consider too. Shelton recommends choosing one-piece suits with forgiving features like adjustable straps, halter top necks, bandeau tops, and deep-V necklines. High cut styles with side cut-outs, deep backs, belts, and color blocking will elongate legs while softening an extra-long torso. "The best piece of advice I can give to anyone shopping for a one piece is to always measure your torso, and determine your size based on that. If the size guide of the swimwear you're buying doesn't have a torso measurement, that's a big red flag," explains Christina Vidal, co-creator of Kenny Flowers' Watercolors collection.
