Control This Crazy Cool Speaker With Hand Gestures
What’s cooler than a chic speaker you can control with a wave of your hand? An even chicer speaker you can mount on your wall and control with a wave of your hand. While we were totally smitten with PACO, we think we may have moved on to its younger, cooler brother — the O.Sound. The brilliant guys who created the concrete bluetooth speaker have created an even sleeker wireless audio sound system you can hang on your wall and, yes, still control with your hand gestures.
The O.Sound is as minimalist and modern as it gets. Its shape, inspired by the sunrise, is smooth and round. It’s got a handsome reflective surface and is about 15 inches wide, which makes it the perfect speaker solution for those small living spaces. Not only is it compact, but it’s also meant to be mounted on the wall, so it basically takes up zero space in your apartment or home. It also comes in six different colors, including jade green and deep maroon, so it won’t be hard to find one to match your decor style.
While the O.Sound is small, thin and sleek, it still packs a lot of punch in the sound department. The O.Sound’s circular shape delivers crisp, all-encompassing sound that immerses the room in music. Whoever said you had to choose between style and function had it all wrong. Take for example, this, this and this. But, I digress.
Now that you know what the O.Sound looks and sounds like, we can get to the good stuff — what it can do. Or rather, what you can do with it. If you have two hands, or heck, even just one (the other one is holding a martini undoubtedly), you can fully control this beautiful speaker. It’s got two built-in sensors that can detect your simple gestural motions. What does that mean? To press play or pause on the O.Sound, simply hold your hand over the sensors for a few seconds and then take it away (the sensors are located on the front of the speaker’s face). To skip a song, slide your hand from one side to the other. To decrease the volume, hold your hand over the left sensor. To increase, hold over the right. Yes, it’s really as painless and intuitive as that.
It’s also Bluetooth-enabled, so sync it up to your smartphone, laptop or whatever other wireless device you’re storing your music on these days for unlimited hands-free listening and — let’s be honest — dancing.
Digital Habit(s) really knocked it out of the park with this one. Whether it’s function or fashion you’re looking for in a speaker, look no further than the O.Sound. While it may set you back a pretty penny or two (or $577 to be exact), we think it’s well worth the investment. Head over to their website here to make one yours ASAP.
