Pantone’s 2015 Color Report Makes Us Want to FFwd to Spring
If Pantone has anything to say about color (they definitely do), we’ll be moving to the softer side of the color spectrum come spring 2015. While we’re still cozying up in plaid scarves and warming up to the idea of jewel toned layers, LBDs galore and winter whites when possible, we had to take a sneak peek at Pantone’s Fashion Color Report for next season.
While past seasons have lended themselves to brights and even neons, the upcoming spring predictions are quite soft, pale and neutral. The collection is inspired by throwbacks and daydreams of simpler times before we were consumed by technology. Executive Director Leatrice Eiseman of the Pantone Color Institute says, “There’s a growing movement to step out and create ‘quiet zones’ to disconnect from technology and unwind, giving ourselves time to stop and be still. Color choices follow the same minimalistic, ‘en plein air’ theme, taking a cue from nature rather than being reinvented or mechanically manipulated.”
Meet the calming spring colors and start sprinkling them into your wardrobe now — we won’t stop you. Or if you’d rather live in the now, check out our fashion picks within Pantone’s current trendscape here.
