Ingredients:
— 1 pound thick cut bacon
— brown sugar
— cayenne pepper
— black pepper
— 1 box refrigerated pie crusts (2 crusts)
— creamy peanut butter
— 1 egg
— 1 cup powdered sugar
Instructions:
1. Preheat oven to 400 degrees Fahrenheit. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper. Lay the bacon on the parchment in a single layer. Sprinkle with brown sugar, cayenne pepper and black pepper. Bake for 15-20 minutes, until golden and crispy. Remove from the oven and let cool. Chop bacon into small pieces and set aside.
2. Lower the oven temperature to 375 degrees Fahrenheit. Unroll your pie crusts and cut dough into rectangles (the size of your choice!). Place half of the rectangles on your baking sheet. Top with a spoonful of peanut butter, bacon pieces and another piece of pie crust. Use a fork to seal the edges of pie crust together. Prick the top of each pop-tart with a fork 3 times.
3. In a small bowl, whisk together egg and a few tablespoons of water. Brush the top of each pop-tart with egg wash. Bake for 18-22 minutes. Let cool.
4. In a large bowl, combine powdered sugar with a few tablespoons of water to make a glaze for your pop-tarts. Spoon glaze over each pop-tart. Top with more bacon. Enjoy!
