You don’t need fancy paper, felt or fabric to make your own colorful decorations for the holidays. All you need is a printer, scissors, tape, and string. Bonus points if you’re using a printer by HP, our sponsor for this fun tutorial.

Materials:

First, we’re excited to share a set of super colorful printable pennant flag templates featuring our signature color collection.

Polka Dots

Stripes.

And, of course, Happy Holidays!

Once you’ve downloaded and printed our templates, grab your scissors, tape and string and get to work.

Cut each pennant out.

We’ve got our letters!

And our stripes! As you can see, we’ve created tabs so you can easily fold them over the string or ribbon and tape on the back.

Lay them out so you’re sure to attach them to your banner in the right order. Now that you have everything cut out, it’s time to create your banner!

Fold tabs over the string and tape. Space each flag 1-2 inches apart.

We used our workspace to lay out our general design for the wall.

The best thing about the look of these is that they’re so whimsical, you can really hang them however you like.

It’s a great way to add a bit of holiday cheer to any little nook in your house!

Have you tried your hand at making pennant banners? Our templates also work great as stencils if you’ve got construction paper or other patterned paper you’d like to use!
