Peta Murgatroyd Doesn’t Know If She’ll Return to Dancing With the Stars
This past year may very well have been the most life-changing one yet for Peta Murgatroyd. Not only did she welcome her first child into the world, but she also married the love of her life, Maksim Chmerkovskiy. And now, a big decision lies ahead for the fancy-footed pro: whether she should return to Dancing With the Stars.
Though the 31-year-old told Entertainment Tonight on Monday that she feels good (“I really feel like I’m getting to my top shape again”), she also admitted that she’s not sure what the future has in store when it comes to her reality TV career. “To be honest, we don’t know yet,” she answered when asked if she and/or her 37-year-old hubby would ever take the DWTS stage again. “We’re sort of waiting to hear things, waiting to see what our schedules are gonna be like, so, yeah, I mean, stay tuned.” (Though she competed on season 24 just three months after giving birth, she hasn’t committed yet to the upcoming 25th season.)
She went on to explain that it’s not just her or her husband’s time that needs to be managed. Now that they’re a family of three, they have to consider the needs of their son, Shai. “There’s scheduling, as I said before,” Murgatroyd continued. “I don’t want to spend 10 hours a day away from my child, so those things factor into it for me. I’m a mom now and that comes first, you know?”
Being a mom is certainly keeping her busy these days. “He’s nearly seven months now and he’s standing up, he’s nearly walking by himself,” she gushed of Shai. “It’s amazing. It’s an incredible journey to be on.”
She had less to say about the rumors that DeMario Jackson and/or Sean Spicer could be among the next round of contestants on DWTS. Though she claimed she doesn’t have any insider info on the casting, she did tell ET that seeing Spicer on DTWS would be “kinda fun” (though there was an audible question mark at the end of her statement).
We’ll just have to wait to see who will be tearing up the floor when the next season of Dancing With the Stars returns to ABC (most likely) this fall.
