Sorry, Footballers, These Super Bowl Party Fries Might Steal the Show
Let’s just start off by revealing that this recipe was originally created for four people. Ha! Like that was ever going to happen. I pretty much polished these off by myself! So good are these pizza fries that you *might* be able to share them with someone you love very much. But that’s it, people. No one else gets their hands on our pizza fries! Or so you might think when you’re making them. Well, today it’s time to learn how to share. It’s the Super Bowl after all, and this is the perfect appetizer to keep your guests sated as they cheer wildly at your television screen. Crisp homemade potatoes wedges, doused in herby tomatoes and melty cheese, finished off with slices of pepperoni. The only other thing you’ll need is a B+C beer brewing class — or at least some store-bought brews ;)
Ingredients:
Serves 2
- 3 medium-sized red-skinned potatoes, cut into wedges
- 2 Tablespoons vegetable oil
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
- 1 teaspoon paprika
- 1/2 cup passata (or pizza sauce)
- 1 teaspoon dried oregano
- 1/2 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
- 3/4 cup shredded cheddar cheese
- 15-20 slices pepperoni
- 2 Tablespoons finely chopped fresh parsley
Instructions:
1. Preheat the oven to 400 degrees Fahrenheit. Place the potatoes on a large baking tray and sprinkle on the salt, pepper and paprika. Drizzle on the oil and toss everything together with your hands. Place in the oven to cook for 20-25 minutes until lightly golden brown.
2. Take the wedges out of the oven and drizzle over the passata. Sprinkle on the dried oregano and top with the cheese. Place back in the oven for five minutes to melt.
3. Top the melted cheese with the pepperoni and place back in the oven for another five minutes, until the pepperoni is lightly cooked and the cheese is just starting to brown. Remove from the oven and sprinkle on the chopped parsley before serving.

Tastes lovely with some ketchup mixed with a little mayo! Your die-hard-football-fan friends are going to turn into die-hard fans of this dish before the first down.
