PocketScan Is #Winning on Kickstarter as the World’s Smallest Scanner
We’ve seen 3D scanners and desktop scanners, but nothing quite as light and portable as this. PocketScan is the size of business card, making it easy to throw in your bag and head to work or class, and it can recognize text and tables in 130 languages making it all the easier to translate the menu at your favorite sushi spot or find your away around a foreign city. Trust us, after you take a gander at everything it can do you’ll be looking for excuses just to scan stuff.
You can scan handwritten notes from that team brainstorm straight to Evernote and then edit the notes. You can even scan large-scale projects like posters via PocketScan to keep on your mobile device (Yes, both Apple and Android!). You can literally seal your letters with a kiss by scanning your lips with the PocketScan.
PocketScan is totally smashing every Kickstarter goal it set out to achieve. The Kickstarter campaign for the device, considered to be the world’s smallest wireless scanner, has earned five times its $50,000 goal with more than $250,000 in donations from 2,000+ backers. And, it has done all of this with three weeks still left in the campaign. Who knows how many goals the PocketScan will be able to meet for Dacuda, the Swiss software company behind the project?! It’s pretty safe to assume that we’re all one step closer to being able to scan anything, in any size, from absolutely anywhere.
The first shipment is scheduled to go out into the world in November 2014, just in time for the holiday season. After that, PocketScan is anticipated to retail for $149.
Are you as jazzed about the PocketScan as we are? Tell us how you would use the tiny wireless scanner in the comments!
