Prince George and Princess Charlotte’s Sweetest Moments from 2018’s Trooping the Colour
By now, Prince George and Princess Charlotte have plenty of cute moments under their belts, but the pint-sized royals really outdid themselves on Saturday morning at the Trooping the Colour, an the annual parade-like event held in honor of Queen Elizabeth II’s birthday. Almost as soon as they appeared on the Buckingham Palace balcony to watch the planes of the Royal Air Force in their traditional flypast, Kate Middleton’s mini-me and her older brother were bringing the cuteness alongside the Queen’s granddaughter, Savannah Phillips, with claps and giggles all around.
Princess Charlotte, for her part, matched her mom”s ice-blue Alexander McQueen gown and Juliette Botterill hat in the same sailor-collared flower-print dress she donned on her visit to the hospital to meet little brother Louis back in April, adding a red bow for flair. Prince George, meanwhile, was dapper as could be in a white button-down shirt with piped blue detailing.
The duo gave us plenty of sweet moments throughout the morning: Like his father, Prince William, who sparked a meme the year prior when he was scolded by the Queen for kneeling, Prince George received a scolding of his own when 7-year-old Phillips shushed the young royal, even putting her hand over her cousin’s mouth.
Princess Charlotte, meanwhile, took a mini tumble that resulted in some tears: Right as she was peeking out over the balcony’s balustrade, the munchkin lost her balance and fell backwards. Luckily, mama Kate was there to save the day, scooping up the little royal and wiping away tears with her lightning fast reflexes.
We can’t wait until next year, when the youngest member of the family, 7-week-old Prince Louis, joins his siblings!
