Prince Harry and Meghan Markle Used a Never-Before-Seen Wedding Pic for Their Christmas Card
It’s been a whirlwind year for Prince Harry and Meghan Markle, and as they now prepare to celebrate their first holiday season as a married couple, they’ve released a never-before-seen wedding photo used for their 2018 family Christmas card.
“The Duke and Duchess of Sussex are delighted to share a new photograph from their Wedding Reception at Frogmore House on 19th May,” Kensington Palace tweeted on Friday, December 14. “The photograph, which features on Their Royal Highnesses’ Christmas card, was taken by photographer Chris Allerton.”
The beautiful black-and-white photo shows the newlyweds standing with their arms around each other as they take in an epic fireworks display at their reception. It’s a rare candid glimpse into the portion of the May 19 wedding that was not documented by the media. After getting married in an instantly iconic gown by Clare Waight Keller for Givenchy, Markle changed into a silk halter Stella McCartney dress for the private afterparty.
The couple’s Christmas card marks the end of a momentous year for them. Five months after tying the knot in May, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex announced they were expecting their first child in the spring of 2019. They also took their first royal tour abroad, visiting Australia and New Zealand in October.
Their 2018 Christmas card photo was released on the same day that Prince William and Duchess Kate Middleton released their own 2018 family card, featuring their three kids, Prince George, Princess Charlotte, and Prince Louis.
