Prince Harry and Meghan Markle Announce Their Wedding Date
Prince Harry and Meghan Markle announced their engagement just a few weeks ago, and it’s been a whirlwind for the soon-to-be newlyweds since. Within a day, the month and location of their upcoming wedding had been announced, and now it’s time to put an official date in your calendar: Harry and Markle will wed on Saturday, May 19, 2018.
The announcement was made by Kensington Palace on Friday. Previously, we learned that the wedding would take place at St. George’s Chapel, Windsor Castle, and that the royal family would be paying for the event.
“They are delighted that the beautiful grounds of Windsor Castle will be where they begin their lives as a married couple,” a Kensington Palace statement said when the wedding was announced. More details of the wedding are sure to follow.
Just this week, Markle made a surprise appearance at the Queen’s staff Christmas party at the location of their future wedding, something that some reports suggested could be a way to “help [Meghan] get used to the ‘Royal’ way of doing things.”
By the looks of things so far, Markle will have no trouble fitting in with her new family. Within a few days of announcing their engagement, the former actress joined Harry for their first official engagement together, meeting with both the public and organization representatives at Terrence Higgins Trust World AIDS Day charity fair in Nottingham.
