Princess Headbands Were the Hottest Trend at the Oscars
Last night’s Academy Awards may go down as one of the most dramatic on record. Not just for that flub that shocked everybody watching, but for the red carpet that consistently served great style. In fact, all around, this year’s red carpet saw some of the most daring looks we can remember. And we’re betting our money that many of the looks we saw last night will work their way into trend forecasts for the upcoming seasons.
Quite a few celebs were spotted sporting crowns to the Oscars red carpet. Ruth Negga matched her crown (made by Irene Neuwirth) to her vibrant scarlet dress. Her stylist told The Hollywood Reporter that they were going for “a pagan goddess” look with the entire ensemble. And nothing says “goddess” better than a literal crown.
Meanwhile, Janelle Monae went full-on queen with her golden crown. The Artemisia Crystal Crown by Jennifer Behr featured more than a few Swarovski crystals. And here’s the cool part: If you were inspired by Janelle’s royal look, you can scoop up the crown for yourself. It’s available online for $750.
