Check Out Project Runway Winner Ashley Nell Tipton’s Plus-Size Designs for JCPenney
If you’re a fan of Project Runway, then you already know the amazing Ashley Nell Tipton. If her on-point makeup and perfectly pretty purple hair didn’t immediately win you over, then surely her incredible designs did. Choosing to only send plus-sized designs down the runway, she stayed true to her belief that there are no rules when it comes to styling yourself, no matter your (wonderful, fabulous, beautiful) size. Now, it’s the moment we’ve all been waiting for: Ashley Nell Tipton has released her first amazingly “fun and funky” plus-size line for JCPenney.
Ashley gave us the inside scoop in an interview earlier today while backstage at her very first NYFW show, and explained that she wants to allow plus-size women the chance to “show their confidence through their clothing.” They’ll definitely be able to do that with the help of Ashley’s 19-piece collection, which is offered in sizes up to a 30W/5X, all ranging in the area of $16 to $75.
The line is totally on-trend (while also breaking style boundaries), and Ashley refuses to be bound by the rules that normally shape plus-size fashion. “What rules?” is her apparent motto when choosing bold, striped prints and shapes that other designers might shy away from. Ashley says that it’s all about knowing “what works for our body,” and it’s no wonder she’s quickly making her name as a fashion icon.
The open-sleeve lipstick print blouse, the matching skirt, the striped scuba-fabric crop-top, the rose-gold detailed pencil skirt, the motorcycle jacket with unexpected added length — it’s all so must-have. Available online or in any of JCPenney’s 500 stores across the country, these are the pieces you’ll definitely want in your fall wardrobe.
