During England's WWII effort, Queen Elizabeth joined the Auxiliary Territorial Service in 1945 to learn how to drive and work with vehicles, and married Philip, the Duke of Edinburgh (who passed away in 2021) in 1947. She had an eye for modern ideas, and her coronation in 1953 was the first televised coronation.
The Queen also had a bit of fun in 2012 when she joined James Bond actor Daniel Craig in an opening ceremony film. Queen Elizabeth was the first monarch to have a sapphire jubilee celebrating in 2017 and a platinum jubilee in 2022 celebrating 65 and 70 years of service, respectively. She's also known for her love of riding, corgis, and her grace under pressure.
