AJ Brown and Andre from ‘Queer Eye’ Are Married!
Another happily-ever-after for one of our favorite Queer Eye couples! AJ Brown, the star of season 1’s fourth episode, revealed this week that he married his love, Andre.
Brown announced the happy news on Thursday, May 31, at Netflix’s FYSee event, where he appeared onstage with Bobby Berk, Karamo Brown, Tan France, Antoni Porowski, and Jonathan Van Ness. The Queer Eye Twitter account later posted a photo of the couple with the Fab Five, writing, “The Fab 5 reunited with AJ + Andre, who revealed they’re now MARRIED!”
Fans of the Netflix hit first met Brown during the episode “To Gay or Not Too Gay.” Though professionally successful and popular with his friends, Brown was scared to come out to his stepmother. But because his father died without ever knowing, he decided he couldn’t — and didn’t want to — keep it from her.
After he came out, he introduced her to his then-boyfriend Andre. “I just feel really good about him and I’m thinking about possibly getting married, maybe,” he said during the episode.
In February, the couple got engaged, and the show’s Twitter account shared a congratulatory video that featured clips from the couple’s time on Queer Eye. “WE’VE GOT SOME NEWS THAT WILL MAKE YOUR WEEK!” the tweet read. “AJ AND DREY GOT ENGAGED. OUR GAY HEARTS ARE EXPLODING.”
The first season of Queer Eye is currently streaming on Netflix. Season 2 will premiere on June 15.
