Rachel Lindsay Hates That the Peter Kraus Drama Overshadowed Her Love for Bryan Abasolo
Rachel Lindsay’s run on TheBachelorette ended six months ago with a ring from contestant Bryan Abasolo, and even as she and her fiancé move ahead with (sort of) planning their wedding, she’s still addressing that “frustrating” breakup with runner-up Peter Kraus.
“For me, the reason there was so much emotion [in the finale] was because that was closure for me; that was it,” Lindsay recently told Us Weekly. “And I really haven’t talked to him because I don’t have anything else to say. From what I hear, he’s doing well too.”
Lindsay also expressed some frustration that her breakup with Kraus “really did overshadow” her engagement to Abasolo, which she says was one of the best moments of her life. “I felt like we were more on the defense about our relationship and having to explain more of it than rather it just showing,” she said. “So I just wish you really got to see Bryan, and I hate that it took away from him.”
After an emotional breakup with Lindsay on the show, many thought Kraus was being set up to be the next Bachelor. Of course, that never happened, and while the fan-favorite recently revealed that he had some initial interest in appearing on the Bachelor: Winter Games spinoff (which ultimately didn’t happen), he isn’t in a rush to get back into the reality TV spotlight.
“I am very happy [with my life now], and getting thrust back into the public spotlight like that would be hard,” he recently told ET. “There’s a lot of people watching, a lot of people with opinions and pressure.”
Kraus hasn’t ruled out a return to reality TV entirely, though. So would Lindsay watch her ex on TV every week should he ever become the Bachelor? “Oh yeah! I mean, come on now. I’m in this thing, you know,” she said. “I’m Bachelor Nation, I’m a part of the franchise. It doesn’t matter who the Bachelor is. And just because it didn’t work out with Peter and I, there’s no bad blood. I hope that he’s able to find whatever it is that he’s looking for, you know, even if that was on The Bachelor.”
