How Rachel Zoe Is Making It Totally Acceptable to Wear Uggs to Work
For some of us, when you want to bust out your cozy girl side, you bust out your Uggs. They’re what you wear when you walk your dog when it’s cold out or with your pajamas when you go to get the mail. In other words, they’re the shoes you put on when you take your 9-to-5 shoes off. But Rachel Zoe, the celebrity stylist who’s taste is the epitome of boho chic, is trying to change the way you think about the snuggly stepper. If she has anything to do with it, office Uggs might be in your very near future.
Though it seems like an unlikely pairing at first — this is a woman who wears sky-high heels when she’s toting around her two young sons — the fashion designer seems quite passionate about the her involvement with the Aussie brand, which focuses on the new Classic Slim Collection. While the classic suede and sheepskin design remains, you notice that this set of shoes is much more streamlined thanks to its thinner upper and subtle wedge. Zoe told MarieClaire.com that it’s those details that elevate the line to a work-worthy shoe that feels “a little more refined.”
“So I say wear that big, oversized sweater — that big cowl neck or whatever — with a yummy coat… wear your leather leggings, wear your skinny jeans, whatever it is, and put on your black classic slim boots or whichever color you choose,” she told MarieClaire.com of a fitting look.
