Recipe Mashup! Treat Yourself to Cinnamon Toast Crunch French Toast Sundaes
Alright, people. Are you ready for the recipe mashup of all recipe mashups? Introducing our Cinnamon Toast Crunch French Toast Ice Cream Sundaes! (Say that five times fast.) This is the perfect thing to whip up when you want to treat yourself. We’re talking French toast… crusted in cinnamon cereal… topped with ice cream, whipped cream, berries and more. It just doesn’t get any better than this! Read on to see how we made it.
Ingredients:
— 1 loaf challah bread
— 4 eggs
— 1 1/4 cup whole milk
— 1 1/2 teaspoons cinnamon
— 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
— cinnamon toast crunch cereal, crushed
— 1 stick butter
— vanilla ice cream
— whipped cream
— chocolate syrup
— maraschino cherries
— fresh fruit
Instructions:
1. To make the batter, combine the eggs, milk, vanilla and cinnamon in a large bowl. Whisk until combined. Place crushed cereal pieces in a large dish.
2. Cut the challah bread into two-inch-thick slices. Dip each piece of challah bread into the batter. Dredge the bread in the crushed cereal.
3. Heat two tablespoons of butter in a large pan over medium heat. Add 3-4 pieces of toast. Cook 5-6 minutes on each side, until golden. Repeat with remaining pieces of toast.
4. Arrange 2-3 pieces of French toast on a plate. Top with two scoops of vanilla ice cream, whipped cream, chocolate syrup and crushed cereal pieces. Add one maraschino cherry to the very top. Serve with fresh fruit and enjoy!
