Must. Buy.
You Really Need These ’70s-Inspired Sunnies We Spotted at Fashion Week

New York-based label Monse has been on our must-watch list for a while now — and we just knew their Spring 2018 collection wouldn’t let us down. Included among the stripes, fringe, and deconstructed pieces of their varsity-themed runway show (not to mention a star-studded front row that included everyone from Nicki Minaj to Kate Bosworth) was a sunglasses collaboration with Morgenthal Frederics worth marking your calendar for.
The iconic eyewear label and the fashion industry darlings partnered up this season to create Monse x Morgenthal Frederics, a capsule of ’70s-inspired sunnies that will for sure have you channeling your inner groovy chick. The collection features three styles of aviators, including the Linda above, all equipped with wash lenses and backside anti-reflective coating.
The offerings don’t come cheap, though, retailing in between $475 and $495 for each style (that includes the Traci above). According to Morgenthal Frederics, the labels came together to “create something meaningful that reflected the true workmanship and style that are at the core of both brands.” Handcrafted in Japan, these luxe, retro beauties definitely hit the mark.
Each piece from the Monse x Morgenthal Frederics collab is an investment definitely worth considering. And, luckily, since you won’t be able to scoop up these bad boys until February 2018 (at all Morgenthal Frederics boutiques and exclusive retailers nationwide), there’s plenty of time to save. We can dig it.
