Richard Branson Will Pay You to Move to a Private Tropical Island
If you’re looking for a new job, you’re in luck. Richard Branson (yes, theRichard Branson) is hiring for an administrative assistant role with his company, Virgin Group. In addition to all the regular job benefits, it also comes with one really awesome perk: moving to his private Caribbean getaway, Necker Island (the Obamas vacationed there earlier last year, NBD).
While the opportunity to get a taste of the tropics seems like a dream, don’t think this position is all sunshine and piña coladas. According to the description posted to LinkedIn, plenty of work will be involved in the admin role, including “diary and email management, general correspondence, filing and archiving, booking travel.” All of these duties span Branson’s “two busy offices” on the island, so some serious motivation is involved when it comes to working in this slice of paradise.
Even if the duties do fall within your breadth of expertise, the founder of the Virgin Group expressed a good people fit is an important part of the hiring process: “We are of course looking for someone with fantastic admin and organizational skills as well as practical experience in a busy office. But your personality is just as important,” the listing describes.
If you just checked “yes” on all the above boxes, then get your resume by March 10 over to iwanttobeyourpaaa@virgin.com, along with a video of yourself discussing “why you want the job, an interesting fact about you and your unique skills and experience that would make you perfect for this role.” Note: All applicants must be prepared to move to the island at a moment’s notice, so don’t take your submission — or new lifestyle — lightly.
Best of luck!
